In elementary school, you were expected to have that perfect grade. It could be high or low, but no matter what the grade was you would be respected as a person who can write an essay. After all, who wouldn't want to be respected, especially if they did something great?Schooling has come a long way and we have changed from shaming students to having them stand up for themselves and what they think. Yet, it is still the same. Those grade essays are usually to take their best score from their test to find out if they are in a good school or not.I was in grade 9 in Canada and we all had to do it to get into a good school. That was the only test you were going to get. Some did not even go through with the test. Most of us were desperate for acceptance to our best school so that we can get our high school diploma.We could not see any other option becau se if we did not do it, we would not have any chance at all. It was miserable at times, but that's how life goes and life changes.Another effect of doing the paper is that it made you realize what type of person you are and what you are capable of writing an essay about. What I mean by this is that if you did not do it, you could tell yourself, 'I am nothing compared to them.' But you know what, I'm writing an essay right now, just like them.Now that I am in September, and my grade is the lowest, I realize that I have to get back at least my average for it. So Iwill be spending a lot of time on my writing abilities. So, it is going to be different than when I was in grade school. I am in for more learning, because I am learning for me now.Canada is a land of liberty, where everyone has rights. This doesn't mean you have to follow the rules and go to a school, but you have the freedom to make decisions that are the best for you. I guess that means I have to do whatever I feel is goin g to make me the best. I am not afraid of what others think and everyone will respect me now.I'm going to be writing my essay in an effort to impress my teacher. I'll show her I can write an essay without giving up.
